Grand Unified Theory, by Enrico Sacchetti
![]() |
He says: 'This project depicts scientific instrumentation, in particular various particle accelerators including the Large Hadron Collider (LHR), the largest of it's kind. Other experiments photographed include; Opera, LVD, and Luna which are working to unlock thesecrets of Dark Matter and Dark Energy. My interest is two fold: The project explores the dichotomy of how physicists must utilise some of the largest instruments ever constructed to discover the most minute and esoteric particles in the universe. Additionally, the photos also try to deal with how humans utilise and shape their working/living space and environment.'
We say: Enrico Sacchetti is an old friend and contributor to the very first issue of Dayfour (to be online again soon.) Lately he has moved away from fashion to shoot more architecturally-inspired projects. He shot these spectacular images late last year at the LHR near Geneva, Switzerland. www.es-photography.com
Dark Sky Magazine
![]() |
They say: 'Dark Sky Magazine is an online source for literature and art. Publishing from Charleston, South Carolina [USA], we feature weekly issues in which 1 writer, 1 poet, 1 film review, 1 photographer, and 1 2D artist contribute to our goal of reaching a local and international audience. By showcasing a variety of work on a weekly basis, we strive to exhibit the sensibilities of our eclectic readership, as well as provide numerous publishing opportunities for artists.'
We say: This is a beautifully designed site, with a delightful mix of words and pictures. Photographs are presented almost like short stories or visual poetry – and they change every week. www.darkskymagazine.com
